What the coaches had to say after the game...

Kristy Keppitch-Birrell on Championships finals loss...

"To not reach the teams potential was the most dissappointing thing."

"We made some really bad decisions under pressure and lost patience."

"The first half Lee and Helen beat Genesis in the ring, we had been working on that at training and they perfected it."

"Jo Hawley is a little pocket rocket... to come on at Championship level was exceptional, she made a real impact in the fourth quarter."

"There was patches of brilliance and patches of frustration."

Jacqui Hanson on Division 1's Final loss...

"We were really dissappointed, we felt we were peaking at the right end of the season."

"We came in with a lot of confidence from the win over Ballarat and confident that we could come over the top of them (Southern Saints)."

"First quarter we had an absolute belter... it was very dissappointing to let that opportunity go."

"We weren't doing the simple things well enough to reward ourselves."

Kristy Keppich-Birrell on Championships chances of finals success...

“Hume are not 16 points better than everyone else... if we play Hume in the first semi we will go straight into the Grandfinal.”

“The key is our midcourt.  We need to get the transition from defence into attack...
once it’s in the goal end the odds are good.”

“Some combinations are really starting to come together... our starting seven has changed a lot since the start of the season.”

ROUND 13 Monash v Blaze

Kristy Keppich-Birrell
Championship Coach

"Karyn was outstanding with 50 of our 67 goals.  Last night we used the long ball into her really well, which we havn't been doing all season."

"The first quarter we had 11 positive turnovers and only scored from two, so we made wholesale changes in the defensive end at quarter time that really helped us to get the ball out of defense and score from it."

"The centre court combination that came on after Jess hurt herself, with Teagan in Centre, Lil in WD and Ange in WA,
worked really well attacking and defensively."

Standout Players: Karyn Bailey & Lil O'Sullivan

Gillian Lee
19's Coach
"Last night was one of the first games where we were able to play great netball and relax while we were doing it."

"For the fourth week in a row the girls have played consistantly better and better."

"There are some great signs for the team and the players."

Standout Players: Dianne Tuppen & Harriot Wischer
